International leadership association

As the premier global network for all those who practice, study and teach leadership, the International Leadership Association (ILA) serves as a resource for leadership practitioners, scholars, students, coaches, consultants, and public leaders who want to connect with others worldwide.

Our partnerships with various journals in the field of leadership studies and our own publication, Building Leadership Bridges, provide access to the latest information about leadership practices and scholarship.

The ILA annual global conference is a terrific resource for learning and face-to-face networking. Utilizing a variety of learning formats ranging from traditional to innovative, several keynote speakers and hundreds of presenters explore the conference theme by sharing their latest research, techniques, and experiences. Hundreds of presentations and abstracts from past global conferences are available online or via the CD-Rom conference proceedings.

The ILA-exchange listserv offers opportunities to ask and explore questions with a virtual community.

In addition, the ILA offers its members the opportunity to participate in three different types of communities:

  • Member Interest Groups (MIGs) organized broadly around field
  • Regional Communities organized around geographical local, and
  • Learning Communities organized around particular questions
