Since its founding in 1992, CASL has been a driving force in the development of the field of leadership studies. CASL scholars have authored seminal works, such as James MacGregor Burns’ Leadership (1978) and Georgia Sorenson’s Encyclopedia of Leadership (with George Goethals and James MacGregor Burns, 2004). Most recently, CASL engaged scholars from a number of higher learning institutions in the publication of The Quest for the General Theory of Leadership (Sorenson and Goethals, 2006).
Service to the Field of Leadership Studies
CASL scholars are active on the editorial boards of most of the refereed leadership journals in the U.S. and abroad (e.g., Leadership, Leadership Quarterly, Leadership Review), speak and publish widely, support the establishment of leadership studies as a respected field of study, and continue to engage in cutting-edge scholarship, individually and in groups. |
